First Home Game

Our mens basketball team didn't play on Wednesday 12th October, County Upper School asked if we could  re-arrange our game  for a later date. The next game, and first home game, will be against Copleston Sports College next Wednesday 19th October at our Bletchley campus. The game starts at 3.00 pm.

MK College win against SEEVIC

Our men's basketball academy beat a very good SEEVIC basketball academy yesterday by a score of 80-75 in Essex. Traveling with only 8 players, our side understood that it would be an uphill battle but left every bit of energy and effort that we could muster out on the floor against the veteran side and came away with the first win of the new season.

Led by England Internationals Chris Taiwah and Jordan Spencer who scored 20 and 34 points respectively, it was the play of Kevin Moyo that tied the game at 72 apiece, after he made two consecutive 3 pointers. Victor Volosin had an outstanding game with 14 points and 11 rebounds and valuable minutes were provided by Ryan George, Nick Lloyd and Charles Dawodu.

After leading the first quarter by 8 points, SEEVIC stormed back in the second quarter to go into the half time break ahead of our boys by 7 points. A strong 3rd quarter by our boys couldn't gain us any momentum and we headed into the fourth quarter still down by 7 points. The battle in the fourth quarter was filled with baskets being scored by both teams until Moyo made the consecutive 3 point shots that tied the game. From there Spencer took over the scoring for our team, while Taiwah and Volosin controlled all of the rebounds. Moyo, besides his heroic 3 point shots, also shut down SEEVIC's top scorer and held him scoreless in the final quarter of the game.
Next weeks opponents will be tougher as County Upper basketball academy comes to Bletchley Campus. Hopefully some of our injuries will have mended so that we can put a full squad on the floor, but our boys will represent regardless of numbers. I will keep everyone posted and thank you for your support!
