Next Step Careers advice is now available at Milton Keynes College.

Next Step is available free to every adult aged 19 or over in England and has already helped millions of people improve their working lives. We provide information, careers and skills advice that's tailored to the clients individual needs (we can also see clients who are aged 18, as long as they are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance).

Next Step can help clients:

  • - Develop their CV
  • - Complete application forms
  • - Create and adapt covering and speculative letters
  • - Understand the local job market
  • - Become aware of job search techniques
  • - Improve their interview and presentation skills
  • - Find learning and training that it is appropriate to their level and needs
  • - Progress in their current job
  • - With UCAS personal statements
  • - Identify their training experience and needs through a Skills Account

Clients are entitled to up to 3 face to face appointments in a 6 month period with a Careers Adviser, this can be as part of a group or one to one. Help is also available online, or over the phone. Currently one to one appointments last for 40 minutes and group sessions vary, depending on the size of the group and the purpose of the session, for example a group of 12-16 clients covering CV's using PC's could last up to 2 hours, which would also involve one to one work.

Andy operates from 5 sites;

  • Chaffron Way Campus (Tuesday AM & Thursday AM)
  • Bletchley Campus (Monday AM & Thursday PM)
  • Wolverton Outreach Centre (Wednesday ALL DAY)
  • Netherfield Outreach Centre (Friday PM)
