The Youth Work Team will also work alongside students to increase opportunities for their involvement in College decision making through supporting and developing the structure and aims of the Student Council.
The Student Council is for ALL students. It meets on both campuses and brings together students from across the college to discuss ideas, suggestions and improvements to college life. Terms of ReferenceInformation is constantly being added to this section of the student intranet as discussions and meetings take place, so check back regularly to see what progress is being made.

The Student Voice On Campus - What We Have To Say
Students are the hopes and dreams of tomorrow's society. We are also the most important majority who make up the population of MK College. Our strong beliefs in the importance of our views and those of all students led us to become part of the Student Council. As council representatives for our tutorial groups, we feel a sense of belonging to our community. An empowered feeling comes from knowing that as a collective student body we will be successful in ensuring our voice is heard. Striving to accomplish our goals of positive improvements to student's life is challenging, yet immensely rewarding. We are proud to be part of the Student Council and value the power it affords us to make a difference for all students.
How It Works
The student council at Milton Keynes College meets roughly twice each term to discuss issues, concerns and suggestions that aim to improve college life. Members of student council come from tutor groups across the college, each tutor group can nominate two students as representatives to attend student council meetings. If your tutor group doesn't have any student council reps or you don't know who they are, ask your personal tutor or contact the youth work team.
When student council meetings take place there are sometimes too many people present to have useful discussion. We have set up focus groups for students with common interests to meet together to give more time and attention to specific areas of college life.
